I used an external usb 320 GB HD as a windows server 2008 backup drive but have since replaced it with 2 newer 1TB drives and I would like to get windows server 2008 to mount the original drive normally as drive E:\ just like 2 other identical drives I rotate to store other critical data automatically every hour throughout the day.  I deleted the scheduled backups through windows backup, "removed the drive" through windows backup and reformated the drive twice through windows explorer - once on the server 2008 computer and once on a windows7 computer. Server 2008 will now show the drive mounted but as drive a:, not e: as it mounts my other 2 identical drives that have not been used by windows backup. I want to rotate this drive with the other 2 but cannot since it will not mount normally.
