After installing Windows InTune on Windows 8 Enterprise I get error code 800B0001 when running Windows Update.  Error 800B0001 translates to "Unknown trust provider" which makes me think it's a certificate trust issue.  Windows Update works fine if I select "Check online from Microsoft Update".  Is this expected behavior?

    Hi Jeff,

Can you tell me what release you are currently on (January 2013 release or the previous release in June 2012)?

When is the last time you reproduced this issue?

    Hi Jon,

Windows Intune file version: 4.0.9377.0, dated 12/07/2012.  I reproduced the issue just now.

    Hi Jeff,

Windows 8 isn't officially supported on the June 2012 release which is why you are seeing this issue.

You can start a trial for our January 2013 release which does have Windows 8 support or wait until your account is upgraded to the new release.  More information about the upgrade here:  http://blogs.technet.com/b/windowsintune/archive/2013/01/15/upgrading-to-the-latest-windows-intune-release.aspx

    Thanks,

    Thanks, Jon.

I'll wait patiently for my Intune account to be upgraded and manually use "Check online from Microsoft Update" in the meantime.

    Hi Jeff,

The best way to check for updates from Windows Intune is to open Windows Intune Center and hit "check for updates".

Find the Windows Intune icon in your SysTray, right click and open Windows Intune Center.

    Thanks,
