I am trying to install and configure Server Core 2008 R2 as a Hyper-V host server.  The hardware is as follows:

    HP DL380 G5
    2 x Intel Quad-Core Xeon 2GHz/1333
    Bios P58 5/18/2009 - latest

    4GB RAM

    Windows 2008 R2 EE Core
    Installed with Smartstart 8.3

    Here's what happens.
    Scenario:

    Intel VT Enabled
    No-Execute Memory Protection Enabled
    Server runs fine

Execute the following command to enable Hyper-V
    start /w ocsetup.exe Microsoft-Hyper-V

On reboot, BSOD with the following error: 0x0000007E

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down...

Change No-Execute Memory Protection to Disabled, server boots fine.

    Disable it, BSOD again.

Anyone seen this, have suggestions as to what to do, etc?  I know I need to have both Intel VT and No-Ex enabled, but that seems to be a major problem for me right now.

    Hi,

According to the description, it seems that there are some compatibility issue with your computer, I have seen many similar issue with yours in this forum. I recommend that you contact HP for more details about the compatibility about your computer.

By the way, please update the BIOS to the latest to check whether you get the same issue.

    Best Regards,
