I installed Hyper-v and make the necessary BIOS changes. Powered down the server. I am getting the informational warning on the role page that Hyper-V is installed but additional steps are required to begin running server workloads. What additional steps are needed?

Don't worry. This message seems to be normal. I wondered some time but as Hyper-V works fine on my machines I started to ignore it.
    Annoying though!

Create a virtual machine and a virtual hard drive? Install an OS?

Yeah, I see it on both of my Windows 2008 R2 Servers that have Hyper-V enabled.

    Hi,

I agree with Dysos and Brian. However, please provide the details about the warning for the further research.

    Best Regards,

    Hi,

Thanks Brian for the screen shot. I checked my Hyper-V computers, only Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V has this message, I can’t find it on my Windows Server 2008 SP2 Hyper-V computers.

By the way, I always open Hyper-V Manager through Start Menu > Administrative Tools > Hyper-V Manager instead of Server Manager, so I never noticed this message. However, I don’t think this message is a problem, you can ignore it.

Jmp13, did you mean the same symptom we discussed? Please confirm.

    Best Regards,

    Vincent Hu

Yeah this seems to be a default "information" message that doesn't go away.  I have 4 virtual machines running on the server and this message has popped up since day one.
