I need a antivirus software for Windows 2012 server.
Someone says SCEP but I think that will only work when SP1 for SC2012 is published.
Does anyone now a 3rd party product?Regards

Friday, October 12, 2012 4:14 PMSecurity Essentials is for the Client OS, and does not install in Server products. I believe the Microsoft solution for Server OS is Forefront.

Hi there -
Matakaheru is correct about MS Forefront, and you can find out more about the product here:

I know about Security Essentials and FEP/SCEP is not supported for Windows 2012 server yet, I believe.
I need a 3rd party antivirus software.
Thanks

Hello,
Download SCCM 2012 trial here, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/system-center/configuration-manager-2012-trial.aspx
Then, go to the SMSSetup\Client folder and run SCEPInstall.exe for System Center 2012 EndPoint Protection Manager.
It will get you protected.

Wait six months and some company will have a product that works with S2012, hopefully,Powershell Nerds Rule!!"MHem" wrote in message news:a2dae596-94f2-4f65-b27a-15f6cf0abc27@communitybridge.codeplex.com...I need a antivirus software for Windows 2012 server.

Should Forefront Endpoint Protection 2012 install ? Or does it need a SP1 ?

You’re totally right, SC2012 includes the MS antivirus solution for WS2012.
Unfortunately SC2012/Endpoint Protection is not supported on WS2012 until SC2012 SP1 reaches RTM.
SC2012 is not currently a solution to the problem, so mentioning it at all is just a waste of time until it is fully supported.
SC2012 SP1 is in Beta, but sadly there is no rollup path from Beta to RTM without a complete removal of the beta then deployment of RTM. This is no small task!
MS dropped the ball on this one!
WS2012 should have been held back until SC2012 SP1 could FULLY support it!
TrenMicro have products for protection of WS2012.

SC2012 with SP1 has been released to TechNet- just looked there and it's available.
GA is supposed to be in January.

Although it has to be said I'm not entirely sure how to install the endpoint protection on it's own, it's not clear if this is possible.
I tried going to the "SMSSetup\Client folder and run SCEPInstall.exe " but I get the message that "System Server 2012 Endpoint protection cannot be installed on your operating system" error code 0x8004ff04
I'm running Server 2012 Essentials, so maybe 2012 junior isn't supported :(
