Getting this error when trying to activate Server 2012 machines.

The KMS server is running 2008R2 SP1, has the KB2691586 patch installed and the Server 2012 C Channel key successfully installed.

It is activating all of our Windows 7/Server 2008 systems just fine.  Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi,

I think you need to read the following thread to get a understanding of the KMS host key:

Title: Which KMS keys are needed?

    URL: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserversetup/thread/4359446a-96ac-4a20-a935-785086839711

At the same time, when your Windows Server 2012 KMS client tried to activate via KMS method, you need to look into the Event Viewer for KMS to verify whether  there are some related errors or warnings included or not.

Then, you might need to enter the following commands in the command prompte on the affected WinSrv 2012:

    Slmgr /dli

    Slmgr /dlv

    And post back your settings.

    Regards,

    James

    James,

Thanks for the reply. I'm familiar as to why I'm in need of a KMS key. Anyway, I figured out that the domain controller on the labnetwork that the system was on had an incorrect time which was propagated to the members of that domain.

The time was fixed on the DC and the clients and it's working now.  Thanks for your help!
