Creating Storage Pool -USB Storage

Hello All!
I am trying to create storage pool using my USB but server manager don't detect my USB storage :(
steps used
1) attached USB storage ( 300GB ) to server 2012 ( Dell latitude e6430 )
2) when I go to server manager --> file and storage services --> storage pools wont show any thing
I know I am going wrong, but need u guys help

Hi,
What's the exact brand and model of the USB storage? And you could test to uninstall it in Device Manager and see if a reinstall will help. USB disks are supported though performence will be affected. So you may need to confirm with manufacturer to see if it is a known issue in Windows 2012.

There are a few requirements to be met before you get this working. Is you USB device an unallocated device?
