Hi, I need help installing Windows Server Essentials 2012. It goes along pretty well, I see the Start Screen for a second then it says installation is continuing. It gets to a certain point then comes up with "An error has occurred" generic dialogue box with no further information. It offers the option to save logs and to restart. I've restarted several times to no avail, it always hiccups at this step. I did save the logs of course, but I don't know what to look for.

I was able to set up Standard server previously without this problem, but I wanted to get the Media Server and Dashboard of Essentials.

If anybody has any ideas I'd appreciate, or maybe you can tell me where to look in the System Logs (as there are a lot of them!)

    Thanks so much!

I finally got it to install, but I forgot exactly what I needed to do differently. :( I did find my power supply was inadequate to supply 6 hard drives + graphics card + 2PCIe USB3.0 cards. Big surprise, eh?

We had a problem like this on a few of our older servers (running server std not foundation though), flashing the latest BIOS on resolved it.

Might not, but i hope this helps someone :)
