    Hi

    For windows 7 / server 2008 r2, the windows 7 ERD (emergency rescue disk) was available via MSDN.

    THis allowed repairs for boot issues, offered several disk tools and came with LockSmith (to enable you to reset a password).

    I have a sandbox 2012 server vm which is not recognising the standard local password i use.

    This is only within the Microsoft Desktop Optimation Pack 2012. This is only a feature for VL/OVX customers and I don't think Microsoft will release this any longer within the Action Pack or MSDN. You need to have SA for this.
