      Has Code

    I added the Autounattend.xml to my root folder of my flash drive and when I go install I get the error below even though the key works when I manually type it in. I'm trying to install Server 2012 Standard and I used Windows System Image manager 6.2.9200.16384 to make the file.

    "Windows cannot read the productkey setting from the unattend answer file."

    Is this in a VMware enviroment? if so you need to set the install to not use "easy install"

    You should put the key in the winpe pass:

    <settings pass="windowsPE">
            <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Setup" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
                <UserData>
                    <ProductKey>
                        <Key>xxxxxxxxxxxxx</Key>
                        <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI>
                    </ProductKey>
                </UserData>
            </component>
        </settings>
