Trouble adding a shared folder to clustered app
- I have setup a Windows Server 2008 R2 cluster with two nodes. I have then setup two clustered applications on this cluster, one called testprinters for printing and once called testDHCP for DHCP. I need to add a shared folder to the testprinters application, but have been having trouble. I run throught the Provision a Shared Folder Wizard, but in the end it errors out with "New SMB shared folder cannot be created. The cluster resource could not be found." If I do the same thing on the testDHCP application, I can create the shared folder with no problems. I have deleted the testprinters application and have recreated it.
What resource is it not finding? The clusters and clustered apps work perfectly, except for me not being able to create a file share for the testprinters application.

- I ended up just deleting the clustered applications and cluster. Then I recreated them all and I was able to create the file share.

- Hi Swencs,
I dont have the solution to our issues but i was wondering if your installation was on physical or virtual machines,
the problem that i am have involves the valdation of my nodes, i keep getting the error that i need to install failover cluster to the nodes, and clustering tools has been installed.
Please help me if you can - Yeah, I read through that KB article. The resolution is "To resolve this issue, make sure that the physical disk resource is a member of the Highly Available Application or Services group in the cluster that already has a Client Access Point (CAP) configured. Also, make sure that the status of the physical disk resource is "Online."
The disk is part of the printer resource I created and it is working for that part. I can install printers and and the failover works.
Do I need to check something else? - I ended up just deleting the clustered applications and cluster. Then I recreated them all and I was able to create the file share.
