Hi Andy,
Can you please elaborate on what you are trying to install and the error you are seeing?
If you are trying to install the Microsoft iSCSI Software Initiator, it is actually installed by default in Windows Server Longhorn. You will find it under Start / Administrative Tools / iSCSI Initiator. If you try to install the initiator off the web, it will fail (since it is already installed the the web download is not designed for Longhorn).
For testing purposes, a iSCSI software target works well if you don't have access to real SAN or iSCSI hardware. The Microsoft iSCSI Software Target that is included in the Windows Storage Server line is compatible with Longhorn Clustering.
The only way to create clusters inside of a virual environment is to use the MS iSCSI Software Initiator in combination with a iSCSI Target.
Thanks!!

Hi Andi,
Same as you, I'm about to test NLB and clusters .
Do you happen to have a testing document template (i.e a document which describes the test cases and/or steps required to
perform such a test) ? I have searched the net but found none. The NLB controls several machines which runs web services...
I would really appreciate your assistance on this one.
Many Thanks,
Alon

Hi!
If you want to setup failover cluster, then you'll surely need SAN.
You can download trial version to test it here:

Also those docs will surelly be helpful for your purposes:
