I have a 2 node active/active SQL 2005 failover cluster on a windows 2008 enterprise OS. I was installing a 3rd instance of SQL and received an error during the install and it failed to complete. I am unable to see any resource listed in the Cluster manager, however it is broadcasting the IP address that was used. When I search the registry I find both the IP address and server name referenced. I have tried to reinstall the resource but it tells me that name and IP address is already in use. How can I remove this instance manually without destroying my cluster?
