I am seeing the following error every few mintues in my 2008 R2 cluster:
Cluster network name resource 'SQL Network Name (EXCL1VS1)' failed registration of one or more associated DNS name(s) for the following reason: DNS signature failed to verify.'
The network adapters in the underlying physical nodes contain valid DNS server IP addresses. I gave EXCL1VS1$ Full Control over the A record excl1vs1.mydomain.com 192.168.0.161.
Am I missing something?

Thursday, February 04, 2010 5:01 PMI already performed the steps in http://sqllearnings.blogspot.com/2009/05/cluster-name-resource-failed.html (Give cluster resource name Full Control of its DNS name) to no avail.
I performed the recommendation in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/871111. Specifically, I changed the zone properties to allow "Nonsecure and secure" updates. This action worked! I am no longer seeing error messages in Cluster Manager. However, this configuration is not acceptable in a Production network. Does anybody have another suggestion? -

Well, giving the Cluster Name Object Full control of the A-record and then running from a CLI cluster . res <cluster name> /registerDns should solve the issue.
