When I run "repadmin /showreps /v"; I have seen 3 Dcs those are gracefully demoted a year back. removed the entiries form dnsmgmt.msc, dssite.msc & ntdsutil. there is nothing in dsa.msc. Then how the "repadmin /showreps /v" is showing the orphaned DCs?

There is nothing in nltest /dclist:contoso.com, dsquery server -limit 0 but still in repadmin /showreps /v.

    Hi,

I agree with Christoffer and Sandesh, provide sample output of the Repadmin /showreps /v. What is the "Last Attempt" says in repadmin /showreps /v for those 3 DCs.

Replication Summary Start Time: 2011-12-13 07:27:19

Beginning data collection for replication summary, this may take awhile:

      ..................................................

      ..................................................

      ...........

Source DC           largest delta  fails/total  %%  error

     DUt-LDS01                 59m:01s    1 /  10   10  (1818) The remote procedure call was cancelled.

     EMEAOPS-LDS01         09d.05h:52m:09s    8 /   8  100  (1722) The RPC server is unavailable.

     EMEAOPS-LDS03         09d.05h:52m:08s   10 /  10  100  (1722) The RPC server is unavailable.

     EMEAOPS-LDS04                    :30s    0 /  10    0

     EMEAOPS-LDSAAP        09d.05h:52m:07s   10 /  10  100  (1722) The RPC server is unavailable.

     EMEAOPS-LDSAM01           01h:05m:04s  136 / 136  100  (1722) The RPC server is unavailable.

     EMEAOPS-LDSEUR            04h:00m:07s   10 /  10  100  (1722) The RPC server is unavailable.

    Given the failed result.

    In addition,

I have 8 child domains and DNS replication scope is forestwide.

Run the below command but not found anything but still showing in "repadmin /showreps /v".

    dsquery * DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=contoso,DC=com -scope base -attr msDs-masteredBy >> domaindnszones-DCs.txt
    dsquery * DC=fomainDnsZones,DC=contoso,DC=com -scope base -attr msDs-masteredBy >> forestdnszones-DCs.txt
    dsquery * DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=Child,DC=contoso,DC=com -scope base -attr msDs-masteredBy >> childdomaindnszones-DCs.txt

    nltest /dclist:contoso.com

    nltest /dclist:child.contoso.com

You have posted the output of "repadmin /replsum" and not "repadmin /showreps /v" - How many DCs do you have in total in your forest? I think those DSAs (DCs) are stuck at some DC(s) in your envrionement (e.g) the deletion of them hasn't replicated in. Can you post the output of "repadmin /showreps /v" ?
