I am not sure this is in the right sections, but here it goes...
I have a user who often needs to add and remove members to a specific group. He said he use to have an icon on his desktop that would open the Group Properties directly so he could click the members tab and add/remove members. Does anyone know how to make a desktop shortcut that takes you directly to an AD group's properties?

I would also like to know how a shortcut to the group was accomplished.
With an MMC console you can drill down to the OU and right click and simply indicate to open in a new window. Then the mmc user will see the OU on the left pane and the group(s) on the right. You can then remove the other window, remove other tabs, etc.. Then if you wish, you can change the mmc console from author mode to one of the user modes to prevent changes to the MMC once you save it.
If this wasn't what the user had, then not sure what it could have been.

It was probably a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) customized for this user. The pre-req is that the user's computer has to have the AD Admin tools already installed. Then click start, run, type MMC. Then add the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in. You can tailor the console to fit your user's needs. Then save it to the desktop.

The ONLY thing that would appear is the Marketing Group Properties screen. If I create a console, I don't know how to make it automatically select the group and open the group properties.
