Hi,
Whether the user log on the Windows 8 client? And please also try to use other accounts to check the result. If the issue only occur to this user, then maybe we could recreate the user account.

Monday, January 07, 2013 11:29 AMYes it was windows 8, when logged on with another user gpresult /R worked as expected. I did reinstall the OS before trying to recreate a user profile, but I guess it would have worked :)
