I have a server win 2003 std and installed DNS and ADDS. My domain name is "mydomain". It is not an FQDN (Does not have any extension). Now I want to make the server name as FQDN with the extension "mydomain.local".
What are the steps are we want to do. Please guide me to solve this issue.

Single domsain change to fully qualified domain name
Renaming a single-label domain to a FQDN
Kindly take full backup of server before you proceed. Also, its much better if you can simulate in a lab environment for successful result.
Hope this helps
