Hi, trying to add a URL to everyone’s IE 8 secure sites. Editing the GP User Configuration > Windows Settings > Internet Explorer Maintenance >security> Security zones and content ratings> properties. Then checking ‘import the current security zones and privacy settings and I get the warning .....

You have chosen to import settings that are only compatible with Windows Server 2003, IE Enhanced Security Configuration. These security settings will be ignored on machines where the enhanced security configuration isn’t enabled.   To import settings for the enhanced security configuration, click Continue. To import settings for users where the enhanced security configuration isn’t enable, click cancel then remove the enhanced security configuration and import the standard settings from the previous dialog....”

What I think this means is that Enhanced Security configuration is turned on somewhere in GP, I need to turn it off then come back to this setting. Does anyone know where I might find this setting as I cannot find it.

    Many thanks

    Hi,

The message is referring to the local IE ESC configuration on the computer being used to edit the policy. Since the local computer's settings are imported to make the policy, the configuration of IE ESC needs to match that of the client systems. You can either turn off IE ESC on the editing system or simply edit the policy from a client system that doesn't have IE ESC activated.

    Thanks,
