I created a policy to redirect documents and desktop files to a share on the server.  On some workstations the policy never seemed to be applied.  On other workstations either the desktop or the documents were redirected.  On a one or two workstations, both desktop and documents were redirected.  Since the policy application was not consistent, I decided to unlink and delete the policy.  Now some of the workstations still have the policy applied and will not allow the restoration of documents and desktop to the default locations.  I have tried gpupdate /force /boot.  Anyone have an idea how I can get these worksations back to normal?

    Hi ,
First, I would suggest using GPresult to confirm that the policy is no longer in effect.

This behavior can happen when using redirected folders if the 'Leave the folder in the new location when the policy is removed' option is selected on the Settings tab of the redirected folder. The best way I've found to reset the folder is to create a new redirected folder policy using the desired local paths, which will depend on the local operating system, but could be something like c:\Documents and Settings\%username%\.

perhaps the GPO not is syncronized between all the DC's
and the computer collect policy from a DC where the GPO is not deleted
Try to use gpotool.exe in windows reskit
