Manage Display settings on Terminal Server 2003 through GPO
- Hi
Is it possible to manage the Display settings for our TS users on a Server 2003 Terminal Server?

- There are only Policies that enable you to limit the Settings, but not to set them for the user.
Hey Microsoft! That would be a nice extension for GP Preferences...
As a workaround this could serve:
There are tools that can do the screen settings change for you:
I have built one on my own some years ago but there are also some available in WWW, e.g. http://www.naughter.com/qres.html
You could trigger that tool via GPO logon script on the specific Terminal Servers.

- You can build an RDP file with the settings you require and distribute it to the users to use when connecting to TS.Guy

ManuPhilip - Hi
I don't want to limit the maximum color depth, I want to control all the display settings (Resolution, color depth and so on....) so that it's done for the user.
/Lasse - Anyone???????

- Patrick: I will take a look at the links you send me to see if they can help. I am considering trying to create a VBScript that does it, but don't know if it's possible.
And this would be a really nice GP Preference, can't see why it isn't already a part of the GPO/GPP settings.
Guy: I already use the self-made RDF file, but that still requires me to send out a new file if we change anything. I would like to minimize administration and do it through a GPO/GPP but that doesn't seem to be possible.
