Proposed AnswerRoaming Profiles

    Hi,

I’m working with windows 7 on the workstation and Windows sever enterprise 2008 x64 on the server.

I have roaming profiles for my users, and it works fine in a vista/xp setting.

There profiles are big and takes a while to download on a new computer.

I’m setting up a computer in the board rooms that allow users to transfer files to a shared folder to give presentations rather then having them to bring their laptop each time.

I want them to be able to log in using their roaming profiles but not download the profile, just the user permissions. So they can use certain apps and log into certain servers assigned to their user but don’t have to sit there and wait for there whole profile to download.

    Can this be done???

    Thanks,

    Justin

You can try to Implement a local (or domain) GPO on the affected workstations that forces local profiles only.

    1.      Computer Configuration /Administrative Templates / System / User Profiles Settings / Allow only local user profiles

    a.       Enabled
