RDP issue
-
Tuesday, March 05, 2013 6:36 AMWhen trying to RDP the Windows server 2008 R2 machine, during the phase "configuring remote sessions" session is getting disconnected and comes back to mstsc window. Tried accessing the server from console for re-registering DNS but unfortunately unable to open command prompt inside the server as it throws
a cmd.exe error while opening command prompt. " application was unable to start correctly ( 0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application "
Any ideas to resolve the issue .. please welcome !!

Hi,
Have a look at this forum post discussing the same error with CMD.EXE on Windows 7:
Can you connect with RDP to the server on the IP number instead of the DNS server name? Have you configured the remote desktop settings?

Hi Danny ,
Thanks for your response !!
I have tried with IP address no use, also all the Remote desktop settings are configured.
To be precise server was usable before and this issue started only from past 3 - 4 weeks , where if we reboot the server, RDP's will be good for some time , later the issue reverts back again !!Welcome your suggestions !!
