Answered Terminal server in Windows 2012

    Is regular "Terminal Services" available in Windows 2012 Standard? I want to know if I can have users connect to a Windows 2012 server using RDP such as how Windows 2003 has it and each user would have their own desktop that way

    I know about RDWeb and and VDI deployment, but just want to know if terminal server works the same.

    Hi,

    Windows Server 2012 has two administrative remote desktop sessions that you can use to connect to the server. These sessions are build in and do not require to configure the Remote Desktop Services role.

    The name Terminal Services (used in Server 2003, and 2008 R1) has been replaced by the name Remote Desktop Services in 2008 R2 and Server 2012 but it is the same feature.

    You need to enable the two build in remote desktop sessions before you can use them:
