We are having an issue with a remote desktop host running on win 2008 x64 r2 standard and a client running mstsc.exe is on windows 2003 server. after connecting to the host it seems like you always have to perform mouse clicks or keyboard strokes to get a desktop refresh.

Can someone please offer some advice or thoughts on this?

    Kind regards.

Open mstsc and click on "Show Options", select "Experience" tab. What is the selected connection speed? Sounds to me you selected "Modem 56k".
