    Hi

Remote users connecting to a 2008R2 TS, they can place a wallpaper on while logged into there current session, when they log off, then log back in the wallpaper has gone.  Where is the setting to change this so the wallpaper can stick for each user, are they able to all have there own wallpaper?

    Thanks
    Bob

On your domain controller open GPOE (Group Policy Object Editor) and browse to User Configuration > Administrative Temaplates > Desktop > Desktop. Verify the the settings here because you might have a policy enabled (Desktop Wallpaper) and is applying when the user logs on.

    Hi Adrian

    Thanks for your reply.

This is not enabled, if so wouldnt this affect all domain users, not just TS users?  Only TS users are being affected, so I am thinking it's a cache setting getting cleared when they log off or a policy on the TServer itself?

    Cheers

Not necesarly, GPO can be filtered. Check to see if they are login on with a temp profile, and if that's the case you should check those users roaming profiles settings to fix it.

No roaming profiles for users.  Only one TS for external users, they connect through remote desktop gateway.

I have tested by unticking Delete Temp Folders on Exit and Use Temp Folders per session under Session Host Configuration on the TS in question, this has not made a difference, wallpaper still disappears after logging off.

By ticking under the experience tab, desktop background on Remote Desktop Connection, this now works.  It keeps the backgroud on the TS itself, not from the client.

The client itself where you configure RD Connection to the TS, it's not bringing that wallpaper through, instead the wallpaper that you set on the TS session, and it's there each time.

    Thanks for the help
