Configuring Page file on a separate HDD

We have Remote Desktop Servers (W2K8 R2) )that have 16 GB RAM and two HDDs of 146 GB (SAS) each.
If I make the first HDD of the server as the system drive i.e. the one installed with windows and other programs, remove the page file from the system drive (1st HDD) and configure the 2nd HDD with complete Page file of 1.5 x RAM.
Will this boost the performance of the server? As I am dividing Page file & Windows/Programs on separate HDDs.

Hiya,
it depends on your application usage, whether or not the optimization of the page file will have an effect on performance. The 1.5x memory is in case of system crash and, is to my oppinion stupid to implement, unless you have a direct requirement for full dump on first server crash.
All in all it will depend on how much your server need/want to page out during operation.
You should consider RAID levels and applications and there location, rather than page file if looking for performance gains.

Thanks for posting Jesper.
Ok. I have my applications running from the first HDD of the server and page file on the 2nd HDD. And if I have a high level of loads on the server that memory paging out becomes necessary, won't this improve the HDDs I/O performance.
