cannot access published desktop and Lost basic Remote desktop ability after setting up RDS
- Hi,
I've gone through the guide to setup a person virtual desktop for a specific user.
After having gone through the whole document and checking it twice; I have two problems.
1. I can no longer do a basic remote desktop from my work station to my Hyper-V/RDS server. I get prompted for credentials and then immediately get a message that my remote desktop session has been terminated.
2. I can log into the RDWeb. I can see the computer desktop that I published for myself (Named My Desktop). I can enter credentials to connect to it; but then get an error message that the terminal server that I am trying to connect to is redirecting me to another server that it cannot verify is in the server farm. The server it is trying to redirect to IS the desktop that I published for myself so that does not make sense to me.
I am on Windows Server 2008 R2. I have a stand alone server with all the RDS roles installed on it and Hyper-V. I really need my basic remote desktop connections back and would also like to figure out #2. I have no idea where to look next; I followed the setup guide and confirmed everything.

- #1 has been answered as I found in another post; once I have RDS all setup I need to use hte /admin switch to RDP onto that server.
#2 is still the main issue though...not sure why the RDS is redirecting to the workstation thinking its a server and part of the farm. I only have one server; so not really a farm...
