We have configured Remote App on Windows 2008 SP2 (non-R2) thru terminal services.
Remote App hosts a 16bit Foxpro application which requires printing to redirected printer. We have done following steps
- installed drivers of all the printers which might be redirected
- Changed GPO "redirection
- tried to map redirected printer using net use LPT1: \\tsclient\prn1 ot 10 but got following error each time
System Error 66 has occurred
The network resource type is not correct
We want to enable 16bit dos printing to redirected printer in remote app.

There is no support for 16bit applications and/or components in x64 operating systems.
You might try running it on Hyper-V, Windows virtual PC, VMware workstation/player or Virtualbox or run it on Windows Server 2008 x86 terminal services.

Thanks For Reply,
I am using following
Hyper-visor: windows 2012 datacenter hyper-v
VM01: windows 2008 32 bit (SP 2) Terminal Server Connection Broker
VM02: windows 2008 32 bit (SP 2) Terminal Server Session Host
VM03: windows 2008 32 bit (SP 2) Terminal Server Remote App Web
My application is installed on Session Host Server. If I install the printer on Session Host Server I can take print from Remote App or Full Desktop
Now when my remote users access the server (which is accessed thru VPN with all ports open) and want to print from their local USB or Network printers (drivers are installed on Session Host Server) it gives error "The PRN Device not recognizable"
If I publish Wordpad then it allows me to print.
I have Changed GPO "Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Terminal Services\Terminal Server\Device and Resource Redirection" to enable redirection.
