The RPC Server is unavailable error Accessing 2003 Web Edition server from SBS 2007
-
Thursday, August 16, 2012 9:11 PMI have a SBS 2007 with SP2 (DC) and I am adding to the network a Server 2003 Web Edition. When I try and remote into the 2003 server using a Network Administrator account to login, I get the following error, "System cannot log you on due to the following error: The RP server is unavailable". I can remote into the 2003 server using the local admin credentials. Not sure why this is happening. Any help, direct fix or point me in the right direction would be greatly apprciated. Thanks In Advance!

Hi,
In general, only the members on the local administrators and Remote desktop users groups have access to log onto the server by default.Pls check to make sure that the Network Administrator account has at least the Remote desktop users groups rights to logon. If it is a DC, you need to use the domain administrator rights to log on.
