Issues with Outlook 2010 and IE9 run as RemoteApp in RDS

We have a few users running in a RemoteApp test environment. One of the users has pointed out some small issues with Outlook 2010 and IE9.
1. Outlook 2010: If a user opens multiple emails in Outlook 2010, minimizes those windows, then hovers over the Outlook icon on the taskbar, the preview shows only an empty window with the Outlook icon for the main window and an empty window with an envelope icon for each email that is open. The user must click on each preview window (thereby making it the active window) to see the actual contents of that window.
2. IE9: If a user opens multiple tabs in IE9, minimizes them, then hovers over the IE icon on the taskbar, the only preview window that is displayed was the last active page (not all open tabs). These preview windows are also empty except for the IE logo. The user must click on the preview window to make IE the active Window, then use the tabs across the top of the IE window to get to the desired page.
Unfortunately, the server console doesn't support the Windows Aero feature, so I can't say if things work correctly there. I can say that IE does show a taskbar icon for each open IE tab. Are these issues simply limitations of RemoteApp, or can I correct it with settings changes and/or hotfixes? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Does the issue happen with all users or just specific users? If specific, we may focus on these specific users' personal settings.
What is the server running? We need to know the correct version of Windows as hotfix need to apply on corresponding Windows. Then I can check if there is any hotfix we can apply.
Thanks,
Spencer

Hi Spencer,
The problem appears to be occurring for all users.
The RDS Session Host server is running Windows Server 2008R2 Datacenter with Service Pack 1 and all patches (via Windows Update) applied. The client OS is Windows 7 Enterprise x64 also with Service Pack 1 and all patches (via Windows Update) applied.
Thanks,
Mike

If I launch a full desktop RDS session, I get the non-Aero interface (the open emails/web pages show in verticle stacks instead of horizontal Aero-Peek previews). The problem occurs all the time.

Based on my research currently, RemoteApp does not support Aero taskbar live preview, because RemoteApp sessions do not have desktop composition and therefore cannot get the Aero Glass theme.
For more information, please refer to the article about Aero Glass Remoting in Windows Server 2008 R2.

Kevin,
Performing the steps indicated in your link did enable the Aero Glass interface in full-desktop RDS sessions. Also, thank you for confirming that RemoteApp does not currently support the Aero taskbar live preview. Hopefully RemoteApp will offer this in the future.
Thanks for your help!
Mike
