    Hi,

I have lots of windows server 2008 R2 that I login to for vaious tasks. Since each has a specific application that I need to access, I thought why not just create an RDP file and set it to launch the application that I need on logon and then after I close the application it would terminate my session.

those server don't have RDS running and I don't plan on installing it on them, so is this supposed to work without RDS Session host role being installed?

    Thanks

    Hi,

The Start the following program on connection feature requires RD Session Host Role Service be installed on the target server, and the connection must not be a /admin connection.

    -TP
