Number of Remote Desktop Connections allowed in Windows SBS 2008
I have Windows SBS 2008 server installed and have SQL Server 2008 running on it. The problem I am facing is it will only allow 2 remove desktop connections active at any given time.
I cant push the maximum connections to more than 2.
It reads "This server is configured in the default Remote Desktop mode for remote administration, which allows a maximum of two simultanious remote connections". I have a 10 user licence copy for Windows Terminal Server 2008.
Can you please tell me what I have to do (or) what I need to push the number of simultanious connections to 5?

Hi,
Remote Administration mode only accepts two simultaneous remote connections; you can't modify this to 5. If you want a server with 5 connections, you need a terminal server with the Terminal Services role installed and will need TSCALs and a license server.
Although this thread is about Server 2003, it's still pertinent here.

- I could be wrong about this but have you installed the Terminal Server Role?

If your SBS 2008 Server is at the same time Domain Controller then you are only allowed to run 2 Sessions and only in Administration Mode.
If you want to run 2008 SBS Server in User mode you need to install a SECOND SBS 2008 PREMIUM (or standard 2008 Server) and then you will be allowed to run it with more users.
