Number of Remote Desktop Connections allowed in Windows SBS 2008
I have Windows SBS 2008 server installed and have SQL Server 2008 running on it. The problem I am facing is it will only allow 2 remove desktop connections active at any given time.

I cant push the maximum connections to more than 2.

It reads "This server is configured in the default Remote Desktop mode for remote administration, which allows a maximum of two simultanious remote connections". I have a 10 user licence copy for Windows Terminal Server 2008.

Can you please tell me what I have to do (or) what I need to push the number of simultanious connections to 5?
© 2009 Microsoft Corporation. If you want a server with 5 connections, you need a terminal server with the Terminal Services role installed and will need TSCALs and a license server.

Although this thread is about Server 2003, it's still pertinent here.

http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/Win2000/microsoft.public.win2000.termserv.apps/2006-10/msg00000.html

Hope this helps,
Christa

Christa Anderson [MSFT] You can get the WS08 Terminal Services Resource Kit at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0735625859.Thu, 02 Jul 2009 21:04:40 Z2009-07-02T21:08:26Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverTS/thread/ec7a557c-6eb3-446a-b8f8-e6d9ec1b8d51#e4de5f4b-cac0-4765-b2ff-49a8f90972c0http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverTS/thread/ec7a557c-6eb3-446a-b8f8-e6d9ec1b8d51#e4de5f4b-cac0-4765-b2ff-49a8f90972c0Alex a.k.a Dr.Conti [MVP]http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Alex%20a.k.a%20Dr.Conti%20%5bMVP%5dNumber of Remote Desktop Connections allowed in Windows SBS 2008
If your SBS 2008 Server is at the same time Domain Controller then you are only allowed to run 2 Sessions and only in Administration Mode.
If you want to run 2008 SBS Server in User mode you need to install a SECOND SBS 2008 PREMIUM (or standard 2008 Server) and then you will be allowed to run it with more users.

Citrix Technology Professional, PubForum.net Founder , Love Microsoft &its people to bits!Fri, 03 Jul 2009 07:51:17 Z2009-07-03T07:55:10Z
