Pergunta rdp licensing in workgroup environment event id 1128

this server, server 2012, is setup in a workgroup environment with 5 users. Licensing manager shows no errors but about once every day or so i get an event id 1128 The RD Licensing grace period has expired and the service has not registered with a license server with installed licenses. A RD Licensing server is required for continuous operation. A Remote Desktop Session Host server can operate without a license server for 120 days after initial start up. i've edited group policy but i'm afraid that at the end of the 120 day grace period rdp will stop. This server is in use and i need to find a solution asap to avoid potential downtime. i'm sure there must be some registry edits or gpedits that i must be missing. any help will be appreciated. i have licensing set up as per device and 6 cals have been issued from the licensing server.

thanks. i had already tried all of the suggestions there. i can ping the server with no problems and connect with rdp with no problems, rd licensing diagnosis shows no problems. i use the workgroup name instead of FQDN because the server is not in a domain.

i tried most of what is mentioned there that applies to 2012 server, there have been a lot of changes on this version. the session host configuration is different on 2012 server and the only changes i could make were in group policy. i broke terminal services when i first installed the server and had to reinstall so i am cautious about making changes that might break it again since the server is in use at this point. i also don't understand why i only get the event id sporadically instead of every time someone connects via rdp.

i'm not getting any popups to warn me that the grace period is expiring i just see them in event viewer. in terminal services licensing it shows that 6 device cals have been issued and they never expire. ideas? tia

    Hi,

Please delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing on client and check the result. Thanks.

I deleted the key on one of the 6 client machines and the first time I tried to log on it said I needed elevated privileges. I ran rdp as administrator and logged on. The server issued another device cal to this machine with an expiration date of feb 5 2013. i didn't get any messages on the server but normally I only get the 1128 once or twice a day

Just got a chance to reboot the server and log on again with the client that i changed the registry  in. I got the same error as before so the registry change didn't stop the error.

I haven't had the error since Thursday but I haven't rebooted since Thursday. If the licensing is not working correctly wouldn't I get an error? Will it die at the end of 120 days? Thanks.

It's been 8 days since i've gotten the event for terminal services. I did a reboot yesterday after downloading windows updates and still didn't get an error. there are no errors this afternoon. would it be reasonable to assume that terminal services is operating correctly?
