When the Core is rebooted or shutdown, what happens to the VM's that are hosted on the core? Are they shutdown properly or does Core pull the rug out from the VM's?

I would be lead to believe that if you do not shut down your secondary services prior to restarting or shutdown, then the VM's would just get the rug pulled out. I am in a two week Server Core training class at my work right now and basically Server Core is like any other server just with a very limited GUI and a few other limitations. Not to say that it is impaired to the full fledged versions, just has a smaller attack surface.

wow that really stinks if that is true. I have wsus running on it and it reboots at 3:00am. I was hoping core was smart enough to snapshot or gracefully shutdown servers when it reboots itself.

Major design flaw if that is the case.
