I've ran the RC for a couple of days. Now I can't start the dashboard any more.

Just after the dashboard loads, this error message pops up. Only option is to click OK, and that will close both the popup and the dashboard. Reboot won't help. Any ideas?

Did you activate the OS?  If you go to System properties from the server desktop, what does it say about the activation status?

Could you file a bug and upload the Dashboard logs (All the Dashboard*.log files)?

    Thanks

Getting same error message today when trying to RDP and same error when locally attached. So, No Dashboard now which is annoying. Don't understand how it worked last night but all of a sudden not today?

    Yes, I had activated it.

When I went to system properties under Windows activation, it said "Product ID: Not found". I can't remember the exact phrasing but that was the only info I got.

However after two days I got an alert I needed to activate windows with a link to do you so. I clicked it and it activated and now everything works OK again.

It solved it self after two days, as stated in earlier reply. You still want me to file a bug?

Just out of curiosity, did you make any hardware changes after installing Essentials?

Well, I did connect an external HDD cabinet via eSata. But that was up and running for a few days before the error message. Other than that, no.

OK.  I know Windows can be "touchy" about hardware changes and need re-activation.

Even though it's working now, I would suggest you still file a bug report.  The log files might give Microsoft an idea of what happened.
