Hi Alexxxxxx,
I understand that it will be convenient for the customers to have the sample of File Classification Infrastructure about Windows Server 2008 R2. I will forward your document request for a TechNet article to our corresponding team, if I have any news I will let you know as soon as possible.
Currently, you may download the FileClassificationInfrastructure-HandsOnLab (FileClassificationInfrastructure.zip) from here, there is a File-System-Classification-Infrastructure.docx in the zipped file, which has several example you may refer to.

Hi Alexxxxxx,
As far as I know, the File Classification Infrastructure has been introduced with Windows Server 2008 R2.
The File Classification includes the ability to define classification properties, automatically classify files based on location and content, apply file management tasks such as file expiration and custom commands based on classification and produce reports that show the distribution of a classification property on the file server
For your convenience, I have list a useful File storage team blog as followed:
You may check a overview of File Classification Infrastructure including a sample rule to see how it works, check Classifying files based on location and content using the File Classification Infrastructure (FCI) in Windows Server 2008 R2
As for if the File Classification work fine with third party application, please consider contacting the vendor of third party software to check the detail.
Thanks for your understanding.
Hope this can be helpful.
