    i am facing an issue with UNKNOWN UNREADABLE DISK in windows 2003 R2 in the Disk Manager. i started facing this issue after deleting some presented LUNS to the server from EMC VNX 5300. in the system logs am getting the error EventID:1 Source: Virtual Disk Services Description: Unexpected Failure: Error Code: 2@ 0200001d.

    how can i remove these unreadable disks from the server.

    Unpresent them from the server (SAN side) so the LUNs are never seen by the OS.

    this has been resolved by deleting the zones between the host and the storage off the fabric switch
