Server failed on DNS 2003

Saturday, January 05, 2013 7:06 AMim using Microsoft DNS for windows server 2003 but some time the DNS server cant resolve some domains if its not local even if its resolved from google dns like 8.8.8.8 i saw error Server failed any help please

as you said the some time it's blocking even on Google DNS.
check is there any firewall or any firewall app i.e ISA server blocking ?

I think the best thing to do is to test by this ways :
ipconfig /flushdns
nslookup command and query of DNS server and try searching for different types of records(NS,SOA,Host,...)
Also, you must use the internal dns server in LAN and enable to LOG event by it!
in the end ,you can once remove root hint list and then update the list again !
Consider the following simple and reverse query ! So, Set the debug setting in your DNS server
