VPN Port Forwarding
-
Wednesday, May 16, 2012 7:29 PMI set up the VPN on my dad's company's Windows Small Business Server 2003 and I can access it when I am connected to his network, but when I am on another network I get no response to the vpn server. Therefore, I am guessing I need to foward some ports on his router in order to allow access from the outside. Can anyone tell me what ports to forward? I tried Portfoward.com or w/e that website is and couldn't find a specific VPN for Windows SBS 2003. Thanks

Depends really but usually point to point tunneling protocol or PPTP is on 1723 TCP
Hope this helps

Please don't double-post (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winservergen/thread/03d45960-7545-4c1c-8d3b-1f70a702f23e)
I suggest to read that article; http://blogs.technet.com/b/rrasblog/archive/2006/06/14/which-ports-to-unblock-for-vpn-traffic-to-pass-through.aspx
If you did the setup with the RRAS's role not everyone is used to debug that, so it can take more time before you get an answer.
