Upgrade from Windows Server R2 Standard to Windows Server R2 Enterprise

Hi there,
We have purchased a few months ago a Server PC which came with Windows Server R2 Standard preinstalled.
We now have acquired an account with the Microsoft Action Pack program that provides us with access to various software licences.
One of them is Windows Server R2 Enterprise and we want to use this licence to upgrade the server machine to this OS version.
Is this possible and if yes how seemless is the procedure?
Does it require a full OS reinstallation?
How will it affect the programmes that we have installed? Especially the SQL Database.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you.

Hi there,
The server is in a closed network with no access to the internet.
Can i use the DISM command in this case?
Does it work on offline upgrades?
And if not since i do have the dvd media with the licence key what type of installation/ upgrade should i perform to prevent any loss of data from eg the sql server we have installed on the machine.
Thank you.
