Are performance counters on SAN disks accurate?

Hi people,
I was wondering how accurate performance counters are pertaining to measuring disks that are provisioned in the same disk group/array in SAN storage.
For example, in the SAN storage, there are 4 hard disks running raid 10. Within this array, 2 logical volumes are created and attached to windows server as disk A & B.
So let's say i put physical disk counters like idle time or queue length on both disk A & B, should it report same results since they eventually belongs to the same array?

Hiya,
they will not show same results, as they will work differently.
In general. Using O/S performance counters will give you the O/S perspective of things. It might look different from the SAN itself. Also bad performance on SAN disks might not be a disk issue by it self.

If you want the perfect counters then you can use the software that comes with the hardware device.http://www.arabitpro.com
