    Hello,

    I need some help,

I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2, and heres the story. I was messing around with the oobe files (msoobe.exe, setup.exe and something called deploy.exe), so when I click those files then every time when i boot the server up it says "Setup is preparing your computer for the first time".

So I booted up to safe mode and it says this:

So now i can't boot my server up with the normal desktop and i'm stuck with this error :(

Is there any way to fix this problem.

    Usayd.

P.S I can access the windows repair tools on a windows disk and i'm running this on a virtual environment.

    Hi,

Try following and see if that helps

    Option 1

    Reboot the affected VM.

    Try Last Known Good configuration.

    OR

    Option 2

    Turn of the affected VM.

    Disconnect the virtual NIC/s.

If VM boots up, log on with local admin account run sfc /scannow from elevated cmd, once sfc scan is complete, connect back the virtual NIC.

    Thanks
