I have lost all my Drives ie C: off od my HHD all I have now is X:boot and D: dvd, how can I reformat my HHD and get the drive back ?

Is X:\ also a removeable drive? If so it sounds like the disk and or disk controller might have failed. I'd boot into controller bios or cmos setup to check this. Might need to consult the hardware manual or manufacturer for this.
