    what is the difference between DNS record(Resource Record) in 2003 & DNS record(Resource Record) in 2008?

    Hi, DNS records includes, Host (A) record, PTR record, Name Server , and etc..etc.. Basically DNS used for Name resolution purpose and whenever the new Domain controller you promote , that automatically update few records, that is Host (A) record and LDAP information and name server records. kindly go through this below link you get detailed information about DNS and implementation part : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd197499(v=ws.10).aspx

    Hi,

    The IPv6 support in Windows Server 2003 was very limited.

    IP version 6 (IPv6) support is the new thing in 2008 DNS  - 2008 DNS Server service now fully supports the longer addresses of the IPv6 specification.

    So, simply you can say the below records are in addition to the existing records. 
    AAAA resource records for the IPv6 addresses of IPv6 nodes
    PTR records in the IP6.ARPA domain for the IPv6 addresses of IPv6 nodes. C.1.A.2.F.3.E.F.F.F.0.0.A.A.2.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.C.E.F.IP6.INT

    Hi,

    If you have IPv6 supported 2003 DNS server, then there is no difference in the available record types. Compare the both links and available record types.

    2003

    I would agree with iamrafic.

    Only the support for IPv6 is the most significant think here.
