I have been running WHS 2011 successfully for some 6 weeks on an i5 with 8GB memory (only presently-installed Client Computer is an Acer 5750 i7 with 4GB memory laptop). but have had a few unexplained instances of the Dashboard suddenly
closing. The above title is self-explanatory in fully describing the issue & the following snip refers:
Subsequently displaying "Safe Mode Settings - all add-ins" from server Help/Safe Mode confirms that the "Home" built-in add-in is v6.1.8800.16399;
the following snip refers:
Inspection of all relevant server event viewer categories shows no errors/warnings etc near or at the time, or even the date, of failure.
As Windows Updates are current for both Server & Client, I can only deduce that this is an error in WHS 2011 or the Home built-in add-in which has been self-diagnosed,
or an error in the detection mechanism.
This behaviour seems to occur when I switch back to the WHS 2011 Home tab from some other server or client activity.
Please will Microsoft investigate this issue & rectify as necessary.
NB (Icould not submit with the 2 snips, so have had to delete these (account needs verification)
