Out Root CA is going to expire in another 2 months. Can some one please guide me on the process and pre-cautions that I need to take?
We have a Root CA and one subordinate CA in our environment.
I am aware of the below steps;
To renew certificate, logon to root CA server, right click on CA, and All Taks, Click on Renew certificate. Question is
Should I renew with new pair of key ? if so why and what is the impact on existing enviornment
Should I use renew with existing key?
Once Root CA is renewed, do I just login to subordinate CA and renew Subordinate Certicate? or is their any other process/ checks that I need to?
I have collected information where and all certificate issued by Root CA need to be manually updated.
Is there any other things that I am not aware of, please guide me
Please dont hesitate ask me if this information is not sufficient/ clear.
Mahesh
