    How do you determine which version of Windows Server 2003 R2 has been installed? When installing the server, there is a screen that shows "Windows Licensing Agreement -  Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition, Standard x64 Edition, Enterprise x64 Edition". To which you respond F8 "I Agree". After the installation is completed, how do you determine which version has been installed: Server 2003 R2 Standard or Standard x64 Edition?

    This is an HP ML115 G5 server and when you go to apply the drivers there are 2 categories 1: Windows Server 2003" and 2: Windows Server 2003 for 64-bit Extended Systems". I initially thought that Server 2003 was only 32-bit. I am a bit confused since I don't know which drivers to choose from.

    There is no difference in drivers perspective if it is standard or Enterprise edition. Only in the architecture.

    Standard and Enterprise editions can be both x86 or x64.

    You can check windows folder if you have an syswow64 folder in C:\windows it is x64 if not it is x86

    press the WinLogo key and Pause/Break key at the same time, to open the SystemProperties (or right-click MyComputer, then choose Properties).

    or you can execute CMD to open a console, then in the console execute:
    wmic os

    Hi,

    Determining the version of Windows 2003 that is running on a computer, use any one of the following methods:

    • Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, click Computer Management, right-click Computer Management (Local), and then click Properties.
    • Right-click My Computer on the desktop, and then click Properties.
    • Right-click Start, click Explore, and then click About Windows on the Help menu.
    • Click Start, click Run, type winmsd, and then press ENTER.
    • Click Start, click Run, type winver, and then press ENTER.
    • Open the C:\Boot.ini file and locate the [operating systems] section.

    Note: To locate Boot.ini, you may have to select the Show hidden files and folders option in Folder Options. To do this, follow these steps:

    1.Right-click Start, and then click Explore.

    2.On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab.

    3.In the Advanced Settings area, click to select the Show hidden files and folders radio button, click to clear the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) check box, click OK, and then close the window.

    4.Click Start, and the version is displayed vertically on the left side of the pop-up menu.
