I am new to all of this, I recently downloaded and installed 2012 essentials 180 day trial all running good. I then created two users over and above the Admin both with remote access granted I followed all instructions including setting up a domain I then ran through everything on my remote win8 PC, In my switch user option (on the remote PC) I now have the ability to access my user desktop on the server or switch to my regular desktop on the PC. Perfect! I now want to do the same with a win7 laptop and I cant. I can get access to files on the server through the Launchpad but cant log onto the server and work off its desktop. I've tried remote desktop I just get errors. We are building this server for a small bookkeeping company where the 3 girls need to share a program and files remotely as they live miles apart.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Terminal Services roles enabled ? The 2 license Microsoft give is for administrative purpose on the server, not for TS. (TS on DC is not a good practice) And you will need TS/RDS CAL
Else, please try a network install, like in a network share, or any other option not terminal server.
